Grandkids Camp 2021

THEME: Hit the Road!

Invitation above.
This year, four of our grandkids were living in another state, so we Hit the Road!
We held one camp for the Utah grandkids and one for the Arizona grandkids.

Opening Ceremony

We always begin with an Opening Ceremony that includes all grandkids and parents!
No age limits! Even the babies come!
We had an Opening Ceremony in Utah AND another one in Arizona.

Sweet Swag………………………………………………………………………..and One Princess with her Entourage!

Activities for Utah Junior Camp

The Utah grandkids are actually all the youngest ones, too, so we tailored the activities to fit them! Three of the six were too young to join, so we took the oldest three–all girls–and had a blast!

  • Amusement Park: rides, games, picnic, sweets & souvenirs, and fun
    (Lagoon Amusement Park, Farmington Utah)

Activities for Arizona Senior Camp

We went to Arizona for Grandkids Camp with our four oldest grandkids.

  • Amusement Park: rides, arcade games, mini golf
    (Castles N’ Coasters, Phoenix Arizona)
  • In-N-Out and Culvers: lunch and milkshakes
  • Movie Theater

Closing Ceremony

Closing Ceremony includes all grandkids and parents.
We talk about all the fun, share photos, and break a pinata!

Time to send the grandkids home with bags of candy!
Then Grandma and Grandpa can take a nap!

Preserving Memories

We do two specific things every year to preserve our Grandkids Camp experiences:

  • Journal Pages
  • Published Photo Book

On the final day of every Grandkids Camp, each participant creates a journal page of their favorite part of camp. Grandma and Grandpa create a page; every grandkid who is old enough to write, draw, color, or scribble makes a page; and we trace the hand or foot of the grandbabies.

These journal pages are then included in a photo book that I create and publish.
(I use Shutterfly and make an 8×8 book.)
Every family gets a Grandkids Camp Memories Book to treasure!
